Mexican jazz pianist and composer Alex Mercado presents his debut trio album making a strong statement in the contemporary scene, performing his own original compositions with virtuosity, freshness and rhythmic flexibility, merging purest tradition with modern jazz language of current musical trends. Featuring Aaron Cruz on bass and Gabriel Puentes on drums, Alex Mercado trio defines it´s style by the originality of his compositions, which reflect an artistic maturity that transcends the notes to achieve a deeper level of expression.

As a sideman Alex Mercado has collaborated with such artists as Antonio Sanchez, Miguel Zenón, Bryan Lynch, Magos Herrera, Peter Slavov, Roberto Aymes, Alex Kautz and Sachal Vasandani.
