简介
Smooth, emotive vocal styling reminiscent of some R&B/Soul and Contemporary Gospel greats. ‘Real’ solidifies Michael’s wide demographic fan base - packing plenty of cool for younger listeners on sharply written tunes, (Running Back To You, I Am A Voice, Arise) with relevant lyrics, dynamic melodies and great hooks that stick. Soaring original Christian ballads, (He’s Real, I Will Forgive) and hymns, (I Surrender All, Holy, Holy, Holy) deliver the powerful, passionate vocals that mark the appeal of a timeless artist. Michael pours out his love for God and takes us all on a trip to Neo-Soul heaven, (Because of God) then brings it back home with the ‘Real’ undeniable force of a great personal testimony on ‘I Know The Lord.’ Musicianship is top-notch, including member’s of Carrie Underwood’s band and several, multiple GRAMMY Award-winners. ‘Real’ owes much of it’s soul/spirit to Michael’s near-death experience. His display of raw emotion, fire and conviction, along with themes of gratitude, redemption and mercy make ‘Real’ an inspiring album.... with a ton of heart. BIO: ‘Real’ is Michael’s first Christian album with indie label, Soulplay Records. A former RCA Records recording artist, Michael recorded two albums while under RCA, and has shared the stage with Keith Urban, CeCe Winans, Bo Diddley, Jeff Carlise (38 Special), and Greg Barnhill (Singer, songwriter for Vince Gill, Amy Grant). Being struck with a rare, near-fatal illness several years ago, inspired Michael to change direction, both personally and professionally. “It was time to give it all back to God,” says Michael, “He spared my life for a purpose.” After ten days in a coma, sustained only by life-support, Michael was dying. The emergency room doctors had exhausted all treatment and given up hope. His family never stopped praying and defying all medical explanation, Michael was miraculously healed. Michael shares his powerful testimony in the album’s final track, “I Know The Lord.’ “When you come that close to dying, everything changes. Whatever my faith was before, now it’s real. There was just no better name or title song for my first Christian album, that says it all!”
