My mother Wilma, my inspiration for the project has lived by the adage "when life gives you lemons you make lemonade." Living this way was not the path of least resistance for her, since she'd suffered unspeakable losses and has never enjoyed material wealth or social position...this in a town (Washington DC) where the first thing folks ask is not "how are you?" but "what do you do?" As I reflect on her seven plus decades, one quality stands out - her ability to see the bright side of most any situation. This project celebrates family, friendship, love, optimism, and acceptance of self - life's lemonade through music - my lemonade.
