Helene Cronin is a singer/songwriter who first began writing songs in college and developed a passion for songwriting that continues to drive her musical career. She has recorded three albums of original material. Two of them are available on CDBaby: "Living By Faith", and "In the Company of Angels". "Living By Faith" is the title track and is an upbeat song about how important it is to let faith stay alive through the hard, confusing times when the path ahead is not clear. Even though doubts cloud our vision, faith asks us to go ahead and take the next step. Really a prayer, "Keep Your Arms Around Our Family" asks for God's protection in every storm that families might face. His embrace is strong. In "What I Say I Believe" Helene sings about pride and how it keeps us from reaching out to people. It's usually easier to talk the talk than to walk the walk. "Will I?" Quietly explores the idea that it is not hard to be a follower of Christ, a believer in God, when things go smoothly. However, adversity calls for a deeper commitment. "Will I praise You when the storm is blinding?" "Without A Trace", another upbeat, guitar-driven song celebrates grace. How can He really see us without all our sin? That's the beauty of His type of forgiveness. (Helene co-wrote this song with Gari Vernier.) "I Call to the Lord" a simple worshipful chorus. "Everything He Had" which has a catchy folk/rock feel, lays the complete credit for salvation on Jesus Christ. How can we think there's anything we can do to add to the work He's already finished? "Adrian's Song" A song about adoption, this one marvels at the newfound, overwhelming love for a child. No matter who gave birth to the baby, she is celebrated and fiercely loved by her parents. "Sufficient, Faithful and True" states "He sends trials, to carry us through. He lets trouble come, so He can prove....He is sufficient, faithful and true." That says it all. "Innocent Ones" has the feel of an anthem. It calls on each of us to do our part to protect the weak, help the helpless and always be merciful. And to teach the next generation to do the same. The CD closes with "All That I Am", a prayerful song of dedication. What more can we offer God than ourselves? The best way to glorify Him is to be fully who He has created us to be.
