Sista Sensi began her singing career in Montego Bay Jamaica, where she lived for many years.She has entertained both internationally and across the U.S. touring with various bands, most recently Yabba Griffiths and Traxx.She has opened for Burning Spear,King Yellowman, Eek-a Mouse,Steel Pulse, and a virtual host of the best of the best in reggae.Sensi says the greatest musicians have always stretched a hand to her and never worried about letting someone else shine,as they know they are great. She can be seen for the moment at several shows in her home-town of Madison, Wi. She specializes in her own lyrics and songs but also sings and records songs that appeal to her.Sensi is a feminist who admires all musicians, but particularly women as she states it takes a lot of strength to be a woman in music.A staunch supporter of legalization of marijuana(and a survivor of incarceration for ganja at Kingston,J.A'.s notorious "G.P."at a time when it housed both men and women)Sensi has donated her song, "Frosty the Dopeman" to NORML,who used it in their holiday podcasts.Sensi is also very involved with her horses and other animalsl,feeling"at peace"when with them.She has one daughter, Kaya,who grew in Jamaica until she was five.Kaya is also a talented singer/songwriter and musician,playing guitar and bass guitar.She is her mother's pride and joy .Sensi divides her time between the states and Jamaica.She performed at 2 shows in Negril in January 2011,on New Year's Eve at The Palms and on Jan.5th at Roots Bambu where she was one of the opening acts for Terry Linen and King Yellowman,whom she has known for many years.Sensi was privileged to be interviewed in January on Irie F.M Radio by the venerable Barry G.,who is a reggae icon.Sensi discussed her hopes for reggae music in jamaica and its impact and importance upon the culture,particularly the youth.
