This is the hardest part: describing the music. Some songs will make you dance, some will make you cry, some will make you giggle (is she...meowing??). And then there's a scat solo thrown in over a walking bass line for good measure.

I've been a singer of all sorts all my life. I think I wrote my first song on the playground in elementary school. Currently I'm getting my master's degree as an opera singer, but I studied jazz for several years as well. I was raised in a small town in Idaho, and from there have made my way around the world and filled my life with very memorable (and not always sunshine-and-rainbows) experiences. I've sung everywhere from Portland to New York to Rome and now in Chicago. These five songs are little snippets of the whole journey, including painful break-ups and my new and immeasurable love of this spectacular city. I have had the great privilege to be influenced by a wide variety of singers and players, and it is my genuine hope that my music never quite fits into one category.
