Saba Anglana专辑介绍：Descrizione Somalian born Saba s new Album Biyo means water and water is love , the vital element uniting and dividing peoples of our planet. Eleven tracks of contemporary and original tracks, sang in Amharic, English, Somali and Italian. Each track explores a different theme related to water and all its multi faceted elements. In 2009 Saba and Fabio Barovero, producer and co-author, meet in Addis Ababa with traditional and contemporary Ethiopian musicians: a sort of field research in the capital of Ethiopia, where many music styles from the Horn flow together. The recording sessions with Endale Abate, Belay Alemayehu, Binyam Berhanu and other artists playing traditional instruments like krar, washinti and masinko are all part of "Biyo", The title of this new work is a Somali word that phonetically recalls the ancient Greek term "Bios", "life", and her original meaning in Somali is "water": a symbolic assonance between life and water. Her collaboration with AMREF (Better Health for Africa Organisation) illustrates her practical commitment to support hydro-projects in Africa and explains the visual theme of water containers within the album s artwork. Biyo is the follow up to the 2008 release of Jidka on World Music Network.
