About the artist: James Carter Cathcart is a New York/New Jersey based musician, writer, producer, and voiceover artist. Cathcart was born in 1954 in Michigan City, Indiana, where his piano skill was nurtured by Mary Jane Lucas. He later studied with Mollie Margolies in Chicago and attended the Interlochen Arts Academy for his high school years, winning top honors there as a classical and jazz pianist. Following graduation, Cathcart became a teen member of the eclectic New Heavenly Blue and performed on the Atlantic Records releases of New Heavenly Blue, Truth is Fallen (Dave Brubeck’s oratorio), and Two Generations of Brubeck. As a founding member of The Laughing Dogs, Cathcart recorded two albums for CBS Records and toured nationally with the group, also opening up for and playing with Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones of the Monkees. Cathcart is principle writer of John Tesh’s and James Ingram’s hit song “Give Me Forever (I Do)”. As an arranger/producer, Cathcart has released his own version of the song “I Do”, and a CD of Beach Boy songs, “Do It Again!”, freshly arranged by Cathcart. These were followed in 2009 by his CD I Was Missing You”, all on Wild Twin Records. Cathcart’s voiceover career began in the early 1990s when he became the voice of the ABC Weekend Special’s O.G. Readmore. JCC has been involved with many cartoon and anime series, including Philionel El Di Saillune, Dilgear and Vrumugun from Slayers, Miki Kaoru from Revolutionary Girl Utena, Weevil Underwood from Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Vector from Sonic X. Cathcart has been the voice of Pokémon’s Gary Oak since the very first episode, adding the Pokémon voices of James and Meowth from Team Rocket, Professor Oak and Butch, among others to his credits, as well as the voices of the Pokémon creatures themselves. Currently supporting his latest CD release on Wild Twin Records entitled I Was Missing You, Cathcart has also been the English scriptwriter for Pokémon since 2002.
