“Simone’s voice is a healingvoice”, Dutch magazine Happiness wrote. At a young age music played an important role in the life of Dutch singer Simone Awhina, but only after the death of her fiancée in 1998 she discovered the gift of her voice. It is said that Simone’s voice has a healing quality and many feel different after listening to her beautiful, warm voice. Since her debut in 2001, she has given concerts worldwide and released 6 CDs. She won prestigious awards in America and studied with US leading vocal coach Mr. William Riley. Simone followed workshops Sound Healing with Chris James, Tom Kenyon and Marius Engelbrecht Dutch magazine Happiness also wrote that Simone’s life story is so incredible that it could well be a movie. At the age of 21 Simone immigrated with her fiancée to New Zealand. After five wonderful years he got a brain tumor and passed away after one month. Her world was turned upside down. It was in this time that she discovered her voice. She fell in love again but luck was not on her side. Her new love got into a fatal car accident. Again her world was shattered. Again it was singing that helped her through this tragic experience. Each CD Simone has made represents a different phase in her life beginning with Journey through my soul that describes the journey Simone made after her loved ones past away. Then Born to Fly where she feels it is time to spread her wings and fly. And she did. . She travelled the world and lived in the USA for four and half years. When she was close to a burnout she walked the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. More than 800 kilometers (500 miles) in 35 days. This journey really changed her life. She returned to her homeland and created Home, as she had come home to herself. The love she had been looking for came into her life, she got married in June 2011 and so her new CD is called Born to Love.
