The song Tug Of War is different and unique in its own way because unlike other love songs, this is not a ballad but it's a pop song with a cross-over in rnb & hip-hop and that, although it was written by a woman (Adie), the song features clearly that the man has total control of the situation and that the decision, is ultimately in his hands. As a songwriter, I decided to write this song in favour of men because I truly feel that sometimes, we generalise too much in our statements and many times, we blame men for being the unfaithful, the untrustworthy, the unreliable and the selfish beings. From experience, I think that such judgements on men are just not fair. Having met a lot of people from different social backgrounds, of different ages and ethnicity, especially when I used to do voluntary work with a philantropic association, I met with men who suffered a lot in their lives, especially for love. They suffered either because the love of their life - their wife - left them for another man, usually choosing the husband's best friend. Another situation might be one where the wife takes the children away from them, leaving the country and disappear for good. Last but not least, some men had wives who used to abuse them physically, psychologically, emotionally and mistreat them. It sounds strange at first, but yes, unfortunately, there are men who lived or are still living in such realities or even worse situations than the ones I just mentioned. On the other hand, in this song, I also wished to highlight the importance of forgetting one's pride, especially if there is true love, and apologizing. We all know how hard it is to pronounce the word 'SORRY' or to ask for forgiveness, but here again, we have to realize that we are humans and that making mistakes is part and parcel of our life. Therefore, I do believe in giving a genuine person, the person that you truly love, a second chance because I strongly believe that if a person is really sorry, then such mistake will never be repeated again. This is what I call, the power and the miracle of love. Tug Of War was written by me, Adie in 2005 but was recorded in 2010, together with notorious rapper - today, one of my greatest friends - Hooligan.
