Hello, my name is Michael Stone. I have been tasked by my partner in this project , Daryl Holden (Abyss) to pen our album notes. His words; " You’re the writer I'm the musician'. Not sure if that's true, during the course of our collaboration he had some choice words for me. (sic) So here goes: Michael Stone: I currently reside on the Space Coast of Florida, USA. I spent over 40 years on air as a morning personality for many radio stations, and have been ,writing, singing and performing music since I can remember. I am a writer, singer foremost and a multi-instrumentalist as well. Daryl Holden: Resides on the Gold Coast of Queensland, in Australia. He has owned recording studios, is a web designer, artists and foremost a brilliant engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Michael Stone & The Abyss is our totally collaborative effort. We are sharing equally in the credits on every song on this album, "New Beginnings" and have spent countless hours in producing this through 2015, via the internet. Daryl is by far the lead musician on this project and we share production credits, though he excels at both, far beyond my level. I often joke with Daryl and others that he was built with virtual scissors on his hands, as he likes to chop up everything and make it brand new to his vision. I; on the other hand am the voice and in most cases the lyricist. I am the one getting scissored ! :) We have ballads, like Wave Dancer, Found You, Wish I Could fly and rockers: Replaced, Stay, Gone. There are some other eclectic tunes that we're not quite sure how to categorize. We'll leave that to your discerning ears. Either way there are 14 cuts to the album and we hope you'll download and enjoy for years to come. Much blood, sweat and tears have gone into this endeavour. Yours in music.
