Alternative progressive rock band, Minus1 formed in 2007 in the city of Mashhad, rock capital of I.R.IRAN. Since the early beginning of rock music in Iran (1970s) there was a great challenge of saying something really sound rock both in words and music. Music was ready with all instruments and devices but not the words. During three decades after the first appearance of rock music in Iran a lot of bands and solo artists tried to accompany new verbal ideas while at the same time some other tried the words of classic poets of centuries ago. According to critiques and papers in Iran, Minus1 with his third album Science of Rain succeeded for the very first time to find a contemporary and vernacular language both lyrically and musically as a reflection of rock side of Iranian society to communicate with his audience.
