简介

“Criminally underrated, obscenely impressive.” “They deliver a solid set of tight, clever rhymes over golden era-influenced beats and bass.” JOSH DONELLAN – RAVE MAGAZINE. These are some of the ways to describe Yuin Huzami (you and who’s army) or Yuin Huz for short. An Australian hip hop artist and producer hailing from Brisbane, Queensland, he is the charismatic front man for band The Coalition Crew and the brains behind his own imprint United Notions Records. Yuin Huz has been a part of the Australian hip hop scene since 1993 and has released 2 EP’s and 4 full length studio albums. Before making the switch to being a musician he was first a graffiti artist, and has since re-established himself as an internationally received aerosol muralist and fine artist. The Ripple Effect sees him combining these 2 life-long passions to create his most comprehensive artistic statement to date by releasing a run of limited edition (hand signed) prints in conjunction with the album, each custome designed to depict a song on the new album. Not only are the prints available online, but if you're lucky enough to get in quickly, you may be able to purchase one of the original canvases these prints are based from. History: In 2003 he released his debut solo album “Making Tracks” which he produced, engineered and released through United Notions Records. In the same year he fronted 9-piece band Solotaro which released 2 EP’s before disbanding at the end of 2004. 2005 sore the formation of The Coalition Crew when Yuin joined forces with bass player/producer Toxic Al. The pair released their debut self-titled album the same year and went on to perform over 200 live shows at festivals and venues across the country. The reputation they built led them to be Qld’s first ever signing by Melbourne based powerhouse Obese Records, who released their 2009 follow up, the double-album Known Unknowns, which featured collaborations with old school NYC artists Masta Ace and Wordsworth (USA). In late 2008, Yuin also founded iconic cultural centre The Fort Arts Hub, where he managed and curated his own art gallery and performance space. After closing the doors of The Fort in early 2011, Yuin began running hip hop and graffiti workshops around Australia and returned to the studio to produce The Ripple Effect. The album has been fully self-produced and signals a return to his roots as one of Australia’s most promising independent Mc/producer artists. He is a man dedicated to his culture and craft who has worked tirelessly for many years to grow the local scene by recording, promoting and encouraging other artists and organising regular events.
