Is this really a Celtic Halloween? In 2014, I wanted to have my own Charlie Brown Halloween special. But a musical version. And Celtic, to go with Celtfather moniker. But is this album really a Celtic Halloween? The quick answer is no. But there's more to it than that. You see, Halloween has its base in the Celtic holiday of Samhain. That's when the thin veil between our world and the spirit world becomes easy to cross over. Fairies and banshees and shapeshifters pass into our world to haunt us. Pretty exciting, huh? But that's not Halloween. Halloween is an American tradition loosely based on Samhain and many other fall harvest holidays. For us, it involves costumes, spookiness, ghosts, death, murder, cartoon witches. It's a pale fragment of that old holiday. This Celtic Halloween EP follows in the Celtic American tradition. Three of the songs are original songs about death, murder and spine-tingling love triangles. One is just a song that I love that also fits the Halloween theme. I feel Celtic Halloween songs capture the spirit of the folks songs of Ireland. In fact, I've had numerous people surprised when I told them they were original. It boils down to this. I love the Celtic Halloween album title. And I have a bunch of songs that seem perfect for Halloween. So I decided to share them with you! Slainte! Marc Gunn, The Celtfather
