Yuri Boukoff was born in 1926 in Bulgaria. He received his musical education in France from Georges Enescu, Yves Nat, Edwin Fischer and Marguerite Long. After a rapid rise and numerous awards he was soon honorarily nicknamed the "Rubinstein of Bulgaria". At 30, he was the first European concert pianist to tour the People's Republic of China on a concert tour. This new album presents Yuri Boukoff in all his artistic range - from Moussorgsky's atmospheric "Pictures at an Exhibition" to Prokofieff's virtuoso Sonata No. 9 in C major, Anton Rubinstein's C major Etude to the music of Chopin - Boukoff combines the best of two centuries of music in his art.
