简介
On "If You Would Dance " , jazz guitarist Wayne Brasel teams up with a top west coast rhythm section and records a beautiful CD of his own lyrical compositions. Wayne's friendship with world class drummer Peter Erskine goes back to when Peter was only 19 and touring around with the Stan Kenton big band. Over the years Wayne and Peter have kept in touch playing live in various settings and recording Wayne's 1995 trio record " The Beatnik Walk". The other two musicians are Alan Pasqua on acoustic piano and Tom Warrington on acoustic bass. Alan has long been a favorite pianist of Wayne's , since his legendary recordings with Tony Williams and Alan Holdsworth. So when Peter suggested that Wayne use Alan and Tom as a rhythm section Wayne jumped at the chance to play with these guys. The result was a magical day of recording and hanging out at Santa Monica's "Threshold Studios ". Because the record was recorded all in one day , it has a freshness and excitement that marks alot of the best jazz recordings. Musicians exploring the music together, listening to each other , exchanging ideas , taking chances and celebrating the beautiful music that is made in the process.
