Cathy Segal-Garcia has been a jazz vocalist, literally, all her life. A musical upbringing, Berklee in the '70's...influenced by Motown, ECM, straight ahead, abstract, Woodstock. Never stopped singing, never stopped growing. Joined by 4 old friends who are equally experienced, and truly outstanding and well known and admired musicians. Gary Fukushima, a pianist, is playing an electronic keyboard with a Wurlitzer sound for this project. Chuck Manning, a brilliant tenor man, goes from beautiful and sensuous to raucous and bodacious! Jeff Richman, the West Coast's version of John Scofield, plays space-ous electric guitar. And Brad Dutz, one of the most inventive and crazy wonderful percussionists anywhere on the planet.

Each of these musicians has a history and following of their own, worthy of notoriety, across the planet! This group creates jazz, and creates freedom and play, together. This project is unusual and unique. Spans the distance for listeners across age groups, for people who enjoy the experience of creation in the moment...therefore the group's name, "The Moment".
