Adults will understand it more deeply than children – maturity intensifies the poignancy of the message. Listen to it all the way through. Then listen again. Do you feel their pain? Can you hear their cry? You should and you will - because their pain is your pain, their cry is my cry. Share this song with them, and with their fathers... it may help change their lives. Fatherlessness is a systemic problem in America, and around the world. Its devastating effects cut across all socioeconomic, age, gender, and racial lines, filling many lives with sadness, fear and pain. Billions of dollars are spent to stem its flood, and society as a whole is weakened by the “no daddy” problem. I am extremely hopeful this song will help shine a spotlight on this crisis, bringing it even further out of the shadows. My prayer is that many thousands of fathers will be stricken with a crisis of conscience, will begin to take the necessary steps of contrition and true repentance from their neglectful ways, and turn their hearts and resources - their very lives - back to the children they helped create, whom they are eternally responsible to and for. I am also hopeful that many mothers will move with the spirit of kindness and encouragement, urging forward and supporting fathers who do care, making space for them to take their rightful place of responsibility – to give spiritual, emotional, and financial support - for the sake of the children... - Brian K.
