The Dead South is a four-piece acoustic ensemble, and fairly new member of the Saskatchewan music scene - the current members only having played as a unit since September of 2012. Since then, many hours of jamming and songwriting ensued, incorporating elements of Folk, Bluegrass, and even Classical Music. Together with a Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, and Cello, the group leaves no stone unturned in terms of musical possibilities. Eagerly awaiting the surely bright future for this group of four friends, they continue to write, play, and enjoy the people who choose to come out and join in on the fun. Their 2013 release, titled "The Ocean Went Mad And We Were To Blame" features five original songs, each with their own unique sound, that reach in a different direction within the genre of folk and bluegrass.
