简介

Like many artists, Diana's love for music is rooted in her family's heritage. Diana's earliest recollections of family life include Harry Belafonte's calypso sounds, Nat King Cole's smooth articulations, and the soulful sound of Ray Charles. She has been influenced by the full richness of Negro Spirituals, the driving rhythms of Motown and American jazz and blues. The musical effect on Diana was a strong desire to do more than listen and dance to these eclectic sounds. As a young child she began to sing the songs like there was no tomorrow. Her father and mother's educational travels, combined with stories of her grandfather's Central American and West Indian roots, fostered a love for various languages. As a result, Diana made a concerted effort to become a multi-lingual songstress, presenting songs in Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish and English. Diana's spiritual devotion from early childhood to the present day can be felt in her rendering of Negro Spirituals and gospel music. Sharing the stage with the likes of Michael Bolton and Barry Manilow while singing with an Atlanta-based community choir, led Diana to further pursue a life in entertainment. Now a resident of North Carolina, Diana's transformation continues as she works with professional musicians, directors, arrangers and composers. She is blessed to be surrounded by superior coaches, mentors, music historians and music makers. Diana's melding of gospel with the colors of jazz is evident on "Stained Glass and Smoky Bars," her first full CD released in 2011. "It just doesn't get any better for me," Diana says.
