简介

This is an honest reflection of some deep moments in Geoff's own life told in a nostalgic manner which most listeners will relate too. From the very first track Geoff relates something that we all know with "Hard times come easy". The title track "Take me back" will have the older generations reminiscing of times past. The beautiful piano melody of "Come and live" will fill your heart with warmth. "Daddy don't you love me anymore" tells of the turmoil in Geoff's own life as a child which is quickly followed up by "Brighter side of life" which tells of Geoff's hopes for the future. Next up is the quirky "Here is a song" that strays from the tempo of the album thus far and is just a happy song to get stuck in your head for a while. "I wanna drive a truck" was inspired by a radio chat show on the way home from a gig one night. Geoff heard discussions of young truck drivers being killed on the roads and felt compelled to write a song to highlight the problem. "When I was a carnie" is exactly as the title says. All about Geoff's time as a Carnival worker in his teens. "Memory of you" was written as a tribute to Australia's own Steve Irwin. "Wild Colonial Boy" is a song that Geoff first heard in his teens and he wanted to do his own rendition of the song. "Grandma's" is a tribute to Geoff's own grandmother who was a very big part of Geoff's childhood life. "My Country" is a patriotic tribute to the Australian country from which Geoff hails. It's a 3 minute expression of what Geoff believes makes his country great. The album ends with a song that Geoff wrote to his father. "If you could see me now" was Geoff's way of saying that if his father was still here, he thinks he'd be proud of what he has achieved. So in short, this is simply a collection of down to earth songs mostly about real things and real events. One review says, "It's hard to find music these days that is written, produced and performed by the same person! This album is an honest reflection of real life. Great to see Aussie talent bringing out their own voice. Keep it coming".
