Compilation of the first two Sweet Laredo albums "Sweet Laredo" and "Views From The Manse" along with outtakes and demos from the early period of the band's existence. Press release from the time went something like this.. "If you wanna know a bit about them....... Sweet Laredo are: Sarah J. Scott and Dan W. Coggins Formed in London where Bristolian Sarah had gone to learn stuff and Dan was on a foray from the Durham hills. Finding a shared love of soul, jazz, blues and hip-hop they began to collaborate on smoked-out, beats-driven tunes. These were then stripped back to be played only on a battered old spanish guitar giving full reign to Sarah's incredible voice which veers wildly between the gutsy blues moan of Etta James and the soaring beauty of Ella. After playing their first gig at London's Jazz Cafe they developed their tunes with gigs and festivals around Britain and Europe. And so began experimental recording sessions in Dan's front room and down-time at legendary North London studio Sweet Georgia Brown's. Grabbing top players from varying musical backgrounds to add extra seasoning, a lo-fi country-soul record was conceived. After further drum sessions at The Sunderland Bunker in North-East England, it was decided to infuse the stew with the many flavours of this green and pleasant land.. Thus, the double-bass and 30gb hard-disk were strapped to an old VW and slowly dragged to a large vicarage in a small Cornish fishing village where the sunny winter beaches were to add the final uplifting ingredient to "Views From The Manse" and originally scheduled for release by Anglo-Canadian label Belleville Records." Between them, Sarah and Dan have released, recorded and performed with artists on labels such as EMI, Parlophone, RCA, Tru-Thoughts, Grand Central, Wah-Wah 45s etc. They are currently recording the next album in sunny Bristol..
