From HSB don't C's nine-to-five nightmare to Halfway's relationship trauma, Herd Mentality finds Bison's songwriters dealing with real life situations with sincerity and wit. But you can put this CD on at a party as well as while you do the washing-up. The rhythms are infectious, the melodies are soulful and distinctive, and the horn lines are catchy as hell. The Abominator comes on like a more manic One Step Beyond, while Sponk is a horn-driven gonzo horror masterpiece.
