简介
7090 switches from Iannis Xenakis to Johannes Brahms and from John Cage to an improvisation with electronics: an ensemble strongly anchored in the world of contemporary music without being afraid of the past. Through their choice of written music and improvisations, 7090 is noted for its "exciting music, vital and subtle playing" (Akkoord Magazine). The ensemble consists of Bas Wiegers (violin), Koen Kaptijn (trombone) and Nora Mulder (piano). 7090 often works with guest musicians; this CD features Jan Hage (organ), Arne Cisser (tuba), Ron Schaaper (horn), Bianca Egberts and Jacco Groenendijk (trumpet), Pierre Volders and Sebastiaan Kemner (trombone). Check our CD "Béton Armé" with chamber music of Xenakis as well! Xenakis: "The whole agony of my youth and the Resistance, the esthetic problems that were posed by the gigantic street demonstrations or, even more acutely, by the sometimes mysterious deathly sounds of cold winter nights in 1944 in Athens, are all alive in my music. It is from these seeds that my idea of pilling up sound events was born and that is why there is now stochastic music."
