Album Notes Talented Australian singer Susanna’s second album, another collection original songs in a mainly unusual genre of Christian music - Messianic, The songs in this album once again effortlessly blend Hebrew passages from the Old Testament with those of the New, exemplifying God's love, Peace, Serenity and Joy. Faithful One is mainly an upbeat album, in some muscically catchy, foot-tapping disco/dance rhythms, some R & B flavors, jazzy overtones and arrangements of some solid melody lines and various vocal treatments. One thing, you can be assured of with Susanna - she’s understated enough to always bring a touch of class to everything she sings, which is why even popular music lovers like this album: she treats every song gracefully and tunefully, never losing her command of the art of singing itself. It’s a great follow- up to the artist’s first, very popular album, The Resting Place. Track 1 The Aaronic Blessing The Prophet Aaron’s famous and moving blessing of Peace and Love upon the Jewish people that has an illustrious place in Jewish liturgy. This blessing is one of the most beautiful in the entire New and Old Testaments and is sensitively rendered here both in Hebrew and in English in a lovely ballad, by the affecting voice and style of Susanna. Track 2 Celebrate the Lord A healthy dose of hand-clapping, upbeat rhythms in this catchy fusion of Hebrew and Christian from the Messianic viewpoint, reflected in some exotic middle-Eastern flavors. Track 3 The Wedding of the Lamb Brightly scored, with some texts from Revelations 19:7&8, this track has some exciting disco/dance rhythms sure to make you listen to the lyrics. Track 4 Elohim (The Name of God) More heartfelt exploration into the mysteries of the multiple (72), names of God, Elohim being one of them. This song is set in some gentle rock, but overall, has a haunting melody and rhythm pattern. It makes you listen. Track 5 Baruch Hashem Elohim Taken almost wholly from Psalm 33, this lively arrangement blesses the Word of God and His love for all on earth. Track 6 Faithful One Here is the album’s title song, the title itself taken from Psalm 19:14. An attractive arrangement of a ballad with evoking disco rhythms. Track 7 My Eyes Are Set On You Contemporary, Euro-styled arrangement of passages from Jeremiah reflecting the awesome clarion call to the faithful of the earth to gather in Jerusalem to behold the Glory and Wonder of God in His Messiah.This song is a fine example of Susanna’s musicality and appeal. Track 8 Adonai (Our God is King) Another tribute to God, and the Psalms themselves, Susanna utilizes the powerful words of Psalm 96 and presents their awesome meaning in the most accessible manner. The contemporary rhythms express confidence in the words of the Psalm and their inevitability of their Truth. You’ll like it. Track 9 The Eternal God You cannot fail to be attracted to this song, with its anthem-like tune and scope. The lyrics are meaningful, well juxtaposed and the arrangement manages to reflect the haunting, attractive melody line while ably injecting some jazzy overtones. The singing is sincere and fervent without being over the top. Susanna never is. You’ll really like this one.
