1. Christmas for Cowboys (S. Weisberg) I couldn't think of a more fitting tune to start the album with than this simple song about the gifts given to those whose profession places them under God's big sky. 2. A Cowboy Christmas Tonight (Mary Kaye, BMI) I feel a reverence for the life my family chooses to live in the rural West and felt it fitting to write a song that reflects the joy in a small town celebration. 3. It all Began in a Barn (Mary Kaye, BMI) The barn pictured on the back of this album is the special, run down place that inspired this song. 4. The Song that has No Tune (words by R.P. Smith/music by Mary Kaye, BMI) Few poems or songs can capture the depth and breadth of the life of a stockman as well as this poem written by R.P. Smith. 5. Santa's Roundup (Mary Kaye, BMI) One of the first songs I ever wrote, this fun tune was written for my children to entertain them. 6. Goin' Home for Christmas (Mary Kaye, BMI) This song was penned on a sad morning upon receiving a phone call that a good friend of the family had died just a few days before Christmas. 7. Wind and Snow (Mary Kaye, BMI) There are some jobs that don't stop when the weather happens to get unruly. I love the drive and determination of this song. 8. Saddle Up Your Pinto (Mary Kaye, BMI) Christmas isn't just for kids. It's for the kid inside us grown-ups as well. Sometimes it would be nice to just ride away for the day. 9. No Black-Haired Women (Mary Kaye, BMI) This song is based on a true story I read in a book called, "What's Next, Doctor Peck?" by Joseph H. Peck. 10. Baby, It's Cold Outside (F. Loesser) R.W. Hampton is a Western Music Hall of Fame artist and it was a career highlight for me to be at Allegro Sound Lab in Texas to record this classic Christmas song with him. 11. I Love Christmas/Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (Mary Kaye, BMI; Martin/Blane) I wrote "I Love Christmas" to weave through "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" because I love this kind of arrangement and it gives me a chance to sing with my daughters. 12. O Holy Night (Traditional) Performing this song never fails to touch me deeply as I consider the very personal gratitude I feel for the birth of the Savior. 13. Come Gather Round the Angel Tree (Mary Kaye, BMI) I wrote this song after visiting a widow in our small town on Christmas Eve and watching her excitement grow as the Angel Tree gifts were delivered to her home.
