简介
“Breakfast in Euphonia?” is Chekov's fourth album, the third one released in Shanghai. It is the first Chekov album with the current core band members (Atze Ton, Fu Hwa, Fynn Cai and Pascal Naigom) and additionally contains contributions by a lot of great musicians and friends from Shanghai and elsewhere around the world. All music is composed and produced by Atze Ton, who also programs the tracks in the software Ableton Live for stage performance. The songs of “Breakfast in Euphonia?” were developed over the last couple of years, some of them had already been finished for quite some time, while others took various revisions and re-recordings before they sounded satisfying just recently. The album contains a mixture of different styles and influences, from funky and groovy tracks with shredding guitar soli or brass section arrangements to more folk-oriented and acoustic sounding tunes with erhu and Turkish folk vocals. All of this with some odd time signatures and rhythms. What does the name of the album mean? The word “euphonic” stands for the effect of sounds being perceived as pleasant, rhythmical, lyrical, or harmonious. So is this album a breakfast in pleasant- sounding euphonia? We leave this to you and your individual taste and perception. As the saying goes: Beauty is in the ear of the listener! Enjoy!
