‘Above the Noise’ While working on his third solo single ‘Renegade Soul’ Ian Toomey and vocalist/producer David A Mills also turned their attention to another song from the back catalogue of the B**ches Sin’s guitarist’s side project Flashpoint. The result of their time in Mills’s studio is ‘Above The Noise’, a glorious slice of hugely melodic AOR with hooks you could hang a shark on and a rousing, self-affirming chorus, topped off with a solo to die for. Although it was originally planned to hold this track over for a future album Toomey’s management decided it was a shame to leave it on the shelf and as a result it’s been made available now for a limited time to tie in with the release of ‘Renegade Soul’. © John Tucker October 2013
