简介
The posting of the "closed for the season" sign is an annual ritual in tourist towns everywhere, including the coast of Maine, where singer/songwriter Doug Kolmar lives. It's a time to take stock, reflect, and think about what's next. While not conceived as a whole, the seasonal themes, and natural imagery wind throughout the album providing a sense of unity, while the musical styles cover a range of flavors from jazz to Americana, to bluegrass. Like Kolmar's previous releases, intricate finger style guitar and warm baritone vocals are front and center, but this time around buoyed on a number of tracks by the rhythm section of Colin Kolmar (drums), and Tony Palumbo (bass), along with Ryan Boisiclaire on trumpet, and Zach Ovington on fiddle and mandolin. The album was recorded and co-produced by award-winning singer/songwriter Jud Caswell, who also provided additional bass and melodica.
