简介
Not since Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin and Sarah Vaughn have we heard a voice that can give us goose bumps, make you think of a higher power and inspire you all at the same time. That voice comes from none other than singer/songwriter Madafi Pierre. Fire, passion, honesty and revolution all loaded up in her lyrics and voice. Based out of New York City, in 2008 Madafi spent a year in Switzerland working on her upcoming album with musicians Laurent Biollay and Hakim Boukhit. There she performed with the Swiss Funk and Groove band A Few Good Men, the first female artist to do so. In 1998 she recorded her first song with Dominican/Swiss rappers Solo Dos for UNICEF. In 2001 Madafi sang the hook for the underground hip-hop classic Whatever Happened… with MC Rise and Wordsworth of the Lyricist Lounge. With the push of radio air-play, a loyal fan-base and the help of DJ Jus Ed, the house single Unbelievably Beautiful was released on wax in 2006. Played in clubs in New York, Miami and Germany, it has covered the pages of many on myspace.com. Her song Mr. Right was selected and placed as the theme song in the French movie Je Reste starring Sophie Marceau and Vincent Perez. She has shared the stage with Eric Roberson, M1 of dead prez and international songstress Emeline Michel. With performances at the legendary Blue Note, S.O.Bs and Central Park’s Summer Stage, Madafi’s music and performances are timeless. In the summer of 2010 Madafi opened for Cody ChesnuTT at Bardot Miami and re-releaed her 1st album ‘Everything In The Middle’. Her songs can be heard on the radio in New York, Miami, Atlanta and Switzerland. With her dynamic band, her live performances are unforgettable.
