Grísalappalísa's Ali is the debut recordings from Iceland latest super-group. Consisting of Jakobínarína's lead singer and drummer along with local legends. The music is urgent and steady, direct but honest, mind over matter rock n' roll. Over the span of 7 original composition Grísalappalísa's singers talk about the life, the frugal framework of their native country and the post-teenage dilemma. Dueling vocals, saxophone legion and a rock-steady foundation. ALI was written and recorded in the summer of 2012 by the band themself at their Reykjavík recording studio and is relesed on Icelandic indie label 12 Tónar. ALI could be described as a concept-album of sorts, where the lyrics weave the songs together in a common theme; a wild ride where the listener follows troubled and desperate storytellers through dark alleys of downtown Reykjavík in search of purpose, love and above all LÍSA who they cry out for wherever they roam. The group released the first single Lóan er komin recently and received widespread attention and acclaim both in Icelandic radio stations and in the web media. The group will release a video for the second single Hver er ég? alongside the record release. The video is directed by the group’s drummer, Sigurður Möller Sívertsen, who has captured and concentrated the band’s characteristics into two minutes of complete frenzy. The video, like the album, showcases the Grísalappalísa’s hardworking and direct DIY ethics which the band hopes will encourage the Icelandic nation to think a little bit about their existence.
