Don't Take Away our Winter Coat. Vocals and guitars by Pal Sheldon Drums by Steel Turkington Violin by Jeremy Curran Original artwork by Tegan Deas Graphic art by Rob Steel of X&Y Recorded at Sandcastle Studios and Artec Sound Mixed at Artec Sound Sydney NSW by Pal Sheldon Mastered by Mick Wordley at Mixmasters SA This song was born out of watching a documentary on global warming. I did not set out to write a song about the subject, the song just decided I was the right guy to sing it. The guitar theme is reminds me of nature a babbling brook somewhere, with the crescendo of the song being a storm in the mountains. The second verse about the house and the river was not a place I knew about until twelve months after the song was written. The song is set in the northern hemisphere and though at the time I lived in Australia, it seemed the right place to set it. Don't Take Away Our Winter Coat The nights turned cold But the fire's warm we can just sit back and talk But lately I've been hearing the planet's song and it's a sad lonely call. Can you hear the river humming low past our home down from the mountains snowy side Even from this distance if I listen real close I can hear the glaciers cry Ooo Ooo Oh No no no Don't take away our winter coat Remember last sumer How we watched the ice packs flow we felt that warm change in the wind We took a moment and let our hearts beat slow Heard the polar bears sing Ooo Ooo Oh No no no Don't take away our winter coat Ooo Ooo Oh No no no Don't take away our winter coat
