简介
(SUPER)EGO had its beginnings in early 2015. Upon the release of Sonic Contrast, the determination was made to create a more polished, cohesive album with only one style of music. Writing consumed all of 2015 and about half of 2016 in between other band side projects. The album was written and recorded entirely at Gilmore’s home studio in Las Vegas from mid 2015 through late 2016. The approach to this album was guitar riff oriented with no real preconceived notions in mind. When it came to lyrics, the recurring themes of human behavior (both the emotional / cerebral and the learned / instilled) quickly bubbled to the surface along with the despising of society seemingly willing to accept any sort of information as factual. The lyrics contained herein are hopefully “wide” enough to allow for your own personal interpretation and application. One track on the album - Liam - is written specifically in memory of my brother and emotes my viewpoint of his life. James Liam was taken far too soon and is no longer a shoulder for me to lean on, but the life lessons he’s taught me and the moments we’ve shared together growing up will always be at the forefront of my mind. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. God bless you my brother and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hallow of his hand. I sincerely hope you enjoy this latest musical offering. It was an incredible amount of fun to put together and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I had recording it. I do this simply for the love of making music and as long as I’m alive, I’m going to keep doing it.
