By her teens she was doing backing vocals with bluesmen Clarence Carter and Ray Charles. She later gave her life to God and in 1984 received the call to ministry. Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Kevin Sharpe is the album's producer. Often vocally compared to Barry White and Larry Graham his background varies from "straight ahead" jazz, funk, rock, and even orchestral music, to his roots in traditional gospel.
