"The Rain" is a complete solo effort composed by David Rice which features his captivating voice, poetic verse and the brilliant instrumentation of him and band members, The Blue Swedes, in an original style that they refer to as "Acoustic Folk Rock". In the title track, "The Rain", and other songs, they showcase the overdubbing of many acoustic instruments: the mandolin, mandola, Irish banjo and Irish drum(called a bodhran). "Could It Be You" has an enthusiastic theme with a sultry beat while, in "TV One-Eyed Goddess", David picks up the tempo with a very impressive infusion of bluesy guitar, perfected vocals and ingenious lyrics. David rounds out his eclectic taste in music with a gospel song, "Your Holy Spirit", which is sure to touch your soul.
