August Moons, two singer-songwriters from opposite sides of the musical spectrum, mesh their styles to create original songs that are rooted in the folk tradition, but take flight at times into spacey ambiance. This is precisely the case in this version of Eden Will Bloom. One gets the feeling, during the opening sequence, of emerging from the mist of chaos caused by war. Tamra Hayden, a Broadway performer with a voice that has been said to reheat coffee, and Frederick "Funkyfreddy" Reed, whose voice has been likened to Neil Young, together create a rich, layered blend of soaring vocals, haunting viola, and diverse guitar styling. Frederick Reed aka Funkyfreddy is a gifted composer and multi-instrumentalist who excels in looping and modal improvisation over classic song structures. Fred has collaborated with many notable artists including Jeff Buckley, Dee-Lite, and Pete Shelly (the Buzzcocks), during his long career as a musician and sound engineer. Tamra has performed starring roles on Broadway in Les Miserables, Cabaret, and The Phantom of the Opera. From Broadway to the Blues, critics have called Tamra's performances "emotionally rich and psychologically detailed" that could "outsizzle Peggy Lee." When Tamra and Fred join forces, the result proves that unlikely combinations can create a sublime musical experience.
