The Afro-Latino Connection - After undoubtedly winning fans over with their ethnically-charged single "Fiesta", the Bay Dawgs continue to capitalize on the appeal for their Afro-Latino flavored hits via their sophomore album "Happy Hour". If Happy Hour was indeed the key to their international success, "Happy Hour 2" would be without a doubt a record for the universe. Coming from different, but similar backgrounds, the Bay Dawgs were introduced to an eclectic catalogue of music even before their destiny manifested itself in what it is today. Tembu grew up in Cameroon, West Africa while Lizo harnessed his powerful Latin swag via El Salvador. The duo met in Richmond, California where they have been coloring Hip Hop blocks with African melodies and Latin chants ever since. "Drawing from Reggae, Salsa, Hip Hop, R&B, and Caribbean zouk can be very rewarding" Tembu confesses with laughter. Although their hit single "Captivated" earned the Bay Dawgs the necessary street credibility, their multifaceted sensibilities were heightened on the smash record "Happy Hour". The Bay Dawgs wrote, produced, and engineered all but three songs on this record and are following the same trend on their follow-up album "Happy Hour 2”,currently in production. The Happy Hour anthology is a perfect mix of street savvy rhymes couple with traditional ethnic melodies and pure musical genius. On their high energy Caribbean charged track ”Fiesta", the Bay Dawgs display to a "tee" what makes their musical prowess so special and lethal. The multilingual duo trade lines going from English to Spanish to French and back again. Other songs on the insane record like "Cherie Coco" warrant throwing a huge party to the likes of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The salsa-like melody and percussion wrap their bilingual melodies into a well spun web of musical seduction.
