"M-Theory: Doctor Who" is the first installment in M31's tribute to science fiction television and film. The EP includes a remix of the Doctor Who theme, and two additional tracks inspired by the science fiction series. “I originally came up with the idea for this album series while I was reading about 'm-theory' on Wikipedia, all while watching an episode of “Red Dwarf” on the television. I immediately knew which science fiction shows and movies I wanted to do tracks for," says Kyle. “And of course, Doctor Who was one of the first on the list. I was first introduced to the show on my local PBS television station, and the episodes with Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor, were the episodes I initially watched.” The “M-Theory: Doctor Who” EP includes a trance remix of the series theme, and two original tracks inspired by the series. “The second track “The Time Lord” has a more deep house feel to it, and reflects the melancholy that I imagine The Doctor must feel as the last Time Lord in the Universe.” The last track, “Doctor and Master,” is trance track inspired by the last three episodes of Series 3, “Utopia,” “The Sound of Drums,” and “Last of the Time Lords,” in which the Doctor once again meets his nemesis the Master, another Time Lord with a much darker soul. "Doctor and Master's" breakdown section is heavily inspired by Gustav Holst's "Mars." There are a couple of tie-ins with "Mars" and The Master that were fun to realize musically in that section." The next installment will be tracks inspired by Douglas Adams’ “Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.”
