The CD is presented by songwriter/record producer, John Madara, whose immense contribution to the Philadelphia music scene is apparent through songs that he and partner, Dave White wrote and produced. They include such timeless classics as AT THE HOP and ROCK AND ROLL IS HERE TO STAY (Danny & The Juniors), THE FLY (Chubby Checker), 1-2-3 (Len Barry, who co-wrote the song with Madara & White), and YOU DON'T OWN ME (Lesley Gore). These and countless other hit records by Madara & White helped to make up "The Sound of Philadelphia." Besides having the best vocal talent to work with, musicians that played on some of the sessions include unknowns, Leon Huff, Daryl Hall, John Oates and Tim Moore, who John discovered. Also playing on one of the songs is Hal Blaine and members of The Wrecking Crew. John and Dave are 2013 Philadelphia Walk of Fame inductees.
