Sweet salsa music from sonero Santiago Ceron. Although an established salsa singer with the likes of Tony Pabon y La Protesta and the legendary Arsenio Rodriguez, this was Santiago's first solo album. Bandleader Luis Ortiz put together some of the best arrangers and latin musicians in New York to produce an album that is strong on the Cuban style of Son Montuno. Originally released in the early 1980s this salsa album spawned several hits including: Lindo Yambu, Vendedor De Agua and Baja Y Tapa La Olla. It has that sweet Cuban sound coupled with Santiago's passionate yet relaxed vocal style. With players such as Hector Bomberito Zarzuela on trumpet, Charlie Rodriguez on the Cuban tres guitar and Angel Cachete Maldonado on conga (to name a few), this is superb salsa collection loved by both dancers and collectors of salsa music.
