简介

A full-time private instructor at GMI Studio in Whiteville, North Carolina, Milt Gore has been playing guitar since age five. He lists his influences as ranging from Johnny Cash and Wes Montgomery to Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Johnson, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Former guitarist for British-influenced metal band White Lightning, Milt currently wields his guitar for Everybody's Knightmare while also the midst of personally recording a series of songs in tribute to Ronnie James Dio. Milt does all this even as he provides his burning fretwork to several side projects such as this one, Quicksilver Night’s “Mönster.” I am Warren Russell, songwriter and publisher (Quicksilver Night Productions, ASCAP). I recently retired from the US Army after over two decades as a Guitar Player, serving in this capacity as ensemble leader, musical director, and arranger for numerous small groups as we performed for a wide variety audiences in several countries. Primarily a guitarist while on stage, I have also performed extensively as a bassist, vocalist, and percussionist. Now a full-time student at Old Dominion University and an “independent music professional,” as the saying goes, I have found myself able to more aggressively pursue my love of composing. I’ve a lot of musical irons in the fire at any given moment as Quicksilver Night and one such of these is “Mönster,” the first of a series of standalone (non-album) guitar-driven instrumentals with the amazing guitarist Milt Gore. “Mönster Featuring Milt Gore” is pure rock and roll in attitude with stylistic elements reminiscent of such legendary axe-slingers as Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani. The title is something of a pun; aside from the obvious English reference … the song is a monster, after all … mönster is Swedish for “pattern” and is derived from compositional aspects of the song. As an unintended bonus, the umlaut is a sort of gently mocking yet nostalgic nod to the heyday of 80s metal. “Mönster” was recorded in several home studios and was engineered and produced by Troy Mitchell at Act As If Entertainment in Norfolk, Virginia, for Seven Cities Music.
