Derrick J. Morrison is originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, where he was born April 5, 1960. Derrick started singing in the church choir at the early age of 5 and came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 7. He grew up in a Christian family and was inspired by his parents to be a godly man. He moved to Dallas in 1986. As an active member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dallas, Texas, Dr. Anthony T. Evans, Senior Pastor, Derrick is a Deacon and active in the Worship Ministry. Derrick has been happily married for 19 years. He and his lovely wife Kathi have two beautiful daughters, D'Erica (17) and K'Deidra (15). Derrick does special music for all types of events, including church conferences and special occasions. He has minstered with, recorded with, and/or shared the stage with many gospel artists including: national recording artists Beverly Crawford, Kirk Franklin, Susan Gray, The Martin's, Babbi Mason, Fernando Ortega, Alvin Slaughter, Larnell Harris, Alicia Willams and many others. Derrick has been on the Nationally Syndicated television program "Bobby Jones Gospel" with his former group Kindred. Derrick has appeared as an opening act for national recording artist-gospel comedian Jonthan Slocum. He knows his purpose in life, to sing for the Lord and inspire and encourage listeners to sing for and to the Lord with a purpose. We were created by Hymn and for Hymn. Colossians 1:16-17
