When you combine the hard hitting punch from the Bronx with down and dirty grime from the south, you get the distinctive sound of JAYCEE CRUZ. Born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents, CRUZ had you're whos, who of rough childhoods. The party scene was always big in his family. There was never a shortage of drugs and alcohol. There was also no shortage of music. CRUZ became fascinated with the early sounds of Hip-Hop like Run DMC and LL COOL J. CRUZ also enjoyed role playing games. This was his escape from the harsh realities of life in the Bronx. CRUZ started using his abilities learned in role playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons creating stories and his love for hip-hop to create a unique style of his own. CRUZ was a big hit at the local parks and corners. It didn't take long for CRUZ to become an accomplished entertainer. He won several talent shows and freestyle competitions. However, with every triumph, tragedy was not far away. CRUZ found himself fed up with everything going on around him and decided to take a break from it all. CRUZ moved to Jacksonville, FL with his grandmother and found an untapped gold mine. CRUZ quickly began to make a name for himself. Not missing a beat he saw he could do what he was doing in New York. Everyone seemed to love his New York/Puerto Rican flavor. He became friends with Arty Hammonds and formed BCA (Boochie Clan Assassins). CRUZ later was introduced to a popular local Jacksonville DJ Rhodey Rhodes. They started a business together called Rhode Way Entertainment. CRUZ became the number one DJ. CRUZ used this as a vehicle to bring BCA out to the public.
