简介
"A pamphlet, no matter how good, is never read more than once, but a song is learned by heart and repeated over and over..." - Joe Hill LABOR OF LOVE: A Tribute to Joe Hill is a "re-cover" of twelve "labor songs" by artists such as Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Sam Cook, Johnny Cash, Joe Hill and others, recycled and ricanstructed by Zero Prophet aka Not4Prophet (with "beats" by Joe Hillbilly), to pay homage to labor activist and musician Joe Hill, who was executed by the state 100 years ago. The artist known as ZERO PROPHET aka NOT4PROPHET, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in East Harlem and the South Bronx in New York City. He is a 'hood activist and anti-corporate agitator, underground-Hip Hop MC, street-soul singer and political punk rock slanger, graffiti writer/vandal, occasional actor and a part-time poet and/or barrio bard. Not4Prophet has released several indie (anti-corporate) music cds with his bands, Ricanstruction and X-Vandals, published a book of poetry, starred (and co-wrote the soundtrack) for a feature film, and has organized political actions and events for various worthy causes.
