简介
This record is proof positive that artists don't have to be bootstrapped to one style of music when composing. Sadpunk has incorporated many different musical styles into this brooding landscape of dark reality. The record plays out kind of like a roller-coaster ride of many different styles and emotions and is largely a social commentary from the point of view of writer Danny McKendrick. Many songs from this record could leap right on to a mainstream rock radio rotation. There are many musical departures on this album including the R and B inspired title track "Under The Gun", or country-western inspired "She Only Likes Me When She's Drunk" and the hip-hop inspired "The Hippies Can't Stand Us." For the most part however the music stays true to its main inspiration of good old 70s era New York City Punk Rock. And punk rock is defined most properly as a genre of music that can't be defined. People of all ages and musical tastes should check out Sadpunk. You won't be disappointed!
