Stephen Dunwoody is an independent musician from Ireland who has supported numerous international acts during a 20 year career, including Jools Holland, Ally McBeal star Vonda Sheperd, Wishbone Ash, The Corrs and Bjorn Again!

He plays piano, guitar and sings. Stephen explains "I have selected 8 tracks that I believe gel well together to tell the story of a down at heel former professional boxer who looks back at his life and loves while working the night shift. I added the bounus track Mercy Me which was left over from a series of demos under the working title of 33rpm.

As the album Night Shift progressed I was to listening to Nina Simone and the jazz singers of the 50s and 60s. I often worked late into the night rehearsing a set that would become the album. I wanted to be able to play it live with minimalist accompanyment - just piano and vocal with perhaps bass and percussion."
