Grand Reserve, the Kentucky trio made up of DJ Mutt, Reverend T, and Trevor Lamont, are back with two tracks, carefully selected by Dingbat Records as the follow up to the trio's first release on the label, the much lauded Thoughts on Romanthony. As an EP, Sessions demonstrates the rich musical heritage that exists within Grand Reserve while highlighting the unique regional characteristics that develop beyond the metropolitan borders of the more traditional House Music hubs. In track one, Sessions, deep bass, driving kicks, and expanding synth-stabs reverberate against 909-swing and electric-dobro interludes. The result is a lively, analogue House sound thats both sweet and lowdown. Track two, 'Been On My Mind', is an early-morning rave tune built upon the waves of nostalgia. A fanfare of piano chords, snappy snares, and nocturnal noises fall with the moon, while mellow brass and lush, evolving pads rise with the sun.
