简介
Née is a synthpop outfit with a gospel choir soul. Combining heartbreak with handclaps, vintage synthesizers with modern sensibilities and strong, sassy vocals with soaring harmonies, Née has created their second EP, Finches. Beginning as a bedroom project for lead Kristin Dennis, Née has developed from an experiment to a fully-fledged working band. Hailed as “the dance squad at the cool kids magnet school”, Née has been enthusiastically featured by Filter Magazine, AOL’s Spinner, Daily Unsigned, and many more. Coming off of a resoundingly positive reception to Dennis’ first EP as Née, the band has cultivated a roster of energetic and well-placed live performances including recent shows with indie heroes Santigold, Y.A.C.H.T., Neon Indian, Penguin Prison, Reptar, Asobi Seksu, Cold Cave, Class Actress, Millionyoung and others. --- Engineered and produced by band member David Beeman at Beeman and Dennis’ St. Louis based studio, the five-song EP is, at its heart, a pop record. Dennis shines as a vocalist made of “all sauce and gold” (88.1 KDHX) in an intersection of Karen O. meets Robyn. While hook-heavy opening track “Pretty Girls” calls to mind a summer montage, songs like “Spiders” and title track “Finches” steal away the sunshine and harken comparisons to Sleigh Bells or YACHT. Notable contributions from other musicians include post-production and mixing by David Vandervelde (Pieholden), a guest appearance by Richie Kirkpatrick (Rit¢hie, Ghost Finger) and album artwork by the ever-talented Richard Swift (Richard Swift, The Shins). Forging ahead with Finches, Née continues to build and capture a wave of momentum propelling the band forward toward greater opportunities and endless dance parties.
