简介
The EP was recorded in the spring and engineered by the great sonic wizard, Ian Gorman at La Luna Studio. The sound leans toward the acoustic side of May’s music and even harkens back to some folk balladeers of the early 60’s. Each track was recorded live, in the room and you can hear it in the natural delivery of the songs. The EP features some of Michigan’s finest players, Phil Barry on guitar, Max Lockwood on bass, Laurel Premo on banjo, fiddle and harmonies, Michael Shimmin on drums and percussion and some special guitar overdubs from Seth Bernard. This world of sounds is pleasing to the ears and soothing to the heart as May’s voice delivers her soulful words, once again. The songs have a certain levity to them, shining a hopeful light on the day-to-day darkness. The message is clear, we need to keep loving, keep caring, to speak up and we need to rise, again and again and again. “...The world is gonna take you You break or you bend And sometimes honey, You lean into the wind…”
