简介
CONCAVE is the musical union of Kentucky-born lyricist/MC Joe Con and Texas-born beat-smith/DJ Caveman. The two met at the University of California at Berkeley in 2003 and began collaborating almost immediately. ConCave have since co-created a powerful and colossal catalog of original, hardcore, conscious hip-hop music that breaks boundaries but won't look back, and utterly crushes the competition in both style and content. ConCave is where "the Michelangelo of mics meets the Picasso of beats." Both artists bring their own unique backgrounds, perspectives, and influences to the table: Joe Con's immaculate flow, laden with potent rhymes and highly innovative lyrical concepts, draws heavily from the Gospel blues and classic rock and roll, and is the perfect compliment to Caveman's ultra saucy sonic blend of future-tribal organic electronica and bed-rock hip hop, an awesome soundscape of freshness covering everything from trunk slappin' Cali bangers to spaced out Tokyo heat heat rocks. The result is a potent elixir that is only for the brave-hearted and devoted music connoisseur. With their first decisive collaboration and release, Joe Con's "Awake and Dreaming", the duo creatively spawned a "future ancient transcendental rebelutionary hip-hop album orgnically grown in a psychedelic bluegrass melting pot." The project has received praise and acclaim from hip-hop heads worldwide, garnering well-deserved attention throughout the U.S., to Europe, and even Japan. One track, "War With the Senses," recently found its way onto Quicksilver's newest surf film Young Guns 3, thanks to a standout verse from brilliant world-renowned japanese-american artist and multi-instrumentalist Shing02. Con and Cave have rocked countless shows, from New York City to San Francisco to Maui, Hawaii, and have shared stages with well-known artists such as Casual (Heiro), P.E.A.C.E. (Freestyle Fellowship), Immortal Technique, Cali Agents (Rasco & Planet Asia), CunningLynguists, Lunar Heights, and many more. The goup is currently putting the finishing touches on the first official ConCave release "ZooLife", as well as networking to expand their fanbase locally and internationally, relocating its headquarters from the SF Bay to Lost Angeles and seeking management, booking and distributing opportunities. A European tour is on the horizon. 2008 is the year. Waking up was just the beginning...
